The point system in the state of Vermont is used to show those people that could be considered unsafe drivers. In order to get points on your licence you must violate local or state traffic laws. The more severe the violation the more point you receive. In Vermont after 10 point on your license it can be suspended.

6/27/07 article and response

The state is considering a new plan that could have drivers paying more for a faster commute on the Mass Pike. The plan includes raising tolls during rush hour, meaning all commuters would have to pay a premium to drive the pike during peak hours and expanding express lanes to allow Fast Lane users to drive through at highway speeds. What do you think of this proposal?

That's probably not one of the states better idea's. It will lead to allot more collisions. If any cars breakdown and someone isn't paying attention in front of them and they finally look and see the car then they are going to have less time to stop than usual because they are going to be traveling at a higher rate of speed. all in all not a great idea.
